At Bow Wows, Meows & More, pet sitting is more than a service or hobby to us. We are professionals in what we do. We offer you ease of mind in knowing that your pet is cared for as if it was our own pet. We know that pets prefer their home environment over kennels/boarding in their owner's absence. We as pet owners, know the owner's anxiety of leaving a pet as much as the stress and anxiety experienced by the pet. A pet sitter will care for your pet in your home or the pet sitters home.
In addition to meals, exercise, playtime and cleaning litter boxes or cages, professional pet sitters may also administer medications, walk dogs and perform other petcare duties. That's why in-home pet care is the choice of pet owners and the “pet-preferred” method of vacation and travel care.
Pet sitters may also provide vital home-care services while you are away, including mail or newspaper pick up, plant care and watering, placing trash outside for pickup or rotating the lights and opening or closing the blinds to make your house look lived in. A professional pet sitter provides peace of mind for everyone.
It's great to be able to ask a friend, but sometimes they are not always as reliable as expected. What if they have to work late or gets stuck in traffic for a few hours, who is going to be there to let your pet out to do his business. Worse yet, what if your friend got busy at home doing things and completely forgot about your pet for a few hours. We know how it is when we have to go to the washroom....we don't like to wait around a few hours. And we will not forget about taking care of your pet.
Another great reason to hire Bow Wows, Meows & More is that you will not be owing us a favor like you may owe your friend.
1. Who wants to go to a boarding kennel and live in a cage? Your pet deserves more than that.
2. Kennels sometimes harbor disease and illnesses your pet can catch.
3. Staying in your home or the sitters home causes much less stress on the pet. And the sitter is there to comfort them and exercise them in familiar neighborhood surroundings.
4. Your pet's diet will remain consistent with what food is being served now to them.
5. Our sitters' are more than sitters', we strive to become your pet's new best friend. Making sure they get a lot of playtime, attention, and hugs. Boredom is not in the dog's vocabulary in your absence.
1. Peace of mind know your pet is in good care. We understand the emotional bond with pets. They are like "our children" and want nothing but the best for them.
2. Being petowners ourselves it is sometimes hard to travel and truly relax and enjoy a vacation. One worries about their pet when away. But with Bow Wows, Meows & More, your pet's time with us will be like a little vacation for them as well. We make sure we take extra special care and pampering. And you too will find peace of mind knowing they are in our care.
3. If we are doing petcare at your home, you will know it is nice to have a little extra security knowing your place is not vacant.
4. We also provide vital services to the rest of your household if need be like watering plants, taking in the mail, and if requested can provide thorough house cleaning services as well.
Give us a call to discuss your needs first. We will then provide a meeting to introduce us to each other as well as your pet. From there you will need to fill out our service application forms which are located on the Resources page under Forms. You can fill them out ahead of time too, if desired.
We currently service South Beach, and provide some limited service in the Downtown, Midtown and Brickell areas of Miami.
We care for most animals from cats, dogs, fish, birds, reptiles, small animals & more. Just ask us. And we are glad to prepare special meals for pets as required as well.
Our normal hours of operation are from 6:00am to 8:00pm. But we are available 24 hours a day, if we are not already booked.
We will make every effort to accomodate your schedule though. Additional charges may apply for service outside of our normal hours. Our employees have families and pets of their own to care for. Their pets' needs are just as important to us here at Bow Wows, Meows & More, even if they are not our client.
Yes, compared to what it cost for kennels, especially if you have multiple pets. It is also the price of not worrying about your pets when they are in our care. You do not have to transport them to the kennel and take up your time. We either stay in your home or board them in our own homes. If we are staying in your home, it is nice knowing that having a person in the house is a crime deterrent.
Petsitters can also be there to check on homes if for instance a pipe breaks, or there is an attempted break-in.
Service rates depend on the type of service as well. Factors such as length of time spent with pet, frequency of visits, the number of pets, and if your pet has special needs i.e. diet or administering medications.
A caregiver is also great to have on those days perhaps when your pet is ill, you will not need to lose a day of work to admister medications every few hours or if a pet has stomach problems and need to be let out 10x a day. It is more economical to call someone in and be at the ready to take your pet outside then come home to a mess.
Please see our Rate Chart.
Payment is normally due before service or on the day of service. Special situations can occur if you are a daily customer.
Yes, we offer a satisfaction guarantee. If you are not 100% satisfied with our services, please let us know so that we can address your concerns and provide your next visit for free.
We are insured through Pet Sitters Associates, LLC for Pet Sitting. Bonding covers theft only, and our insurance covers theft, loss of a pet, and much more. We are also bonded for your peace of mind.
While we make every attempt to provide you with the same caregiver, it may be necessary at times to switch caregivers.
As with any reservation or appointment, the sooner you book the more likely you are ensured that spot. We highly recommend booking holidays 1-3 months in advance as they tend to fill up fast. Plus Christmas morning usually brings us a few extra appointments such as delivery of a new pet to a household upon request.
Normal booking try to get it in two weeks in advance if you know you are going to need service. That said though we will try to meet and accomodate all requests. Some last minute requests may incur extra expenses, if we need to pick up a key or bring in additional staff. But our goal is not to gouge you or hit you with charges. We understand every day life brings every day surprises. Your boss asks you to stay late or perhaps you get invited to a dinner or play and know you cannot make it in home to take care of your pet and back out again for curtain call or dinner.

That is up to you, but we do require minimums if you are away for an extended period of time. We require a minimum of once per day for cats. For dogs, we require a minimum of two, but most customers get more. There are more economical options too for dogs for booking a full day. We can provide just potty breaks in between the longer visits. Our goal is the comfort of your pet.
If you are looking for just service while you are away at work and will be arriving later the same day, then two visits are not necessary for dogs. It all depends on your dog though. And we are happy to discuss your pet's particular needs when we meet.
Depending on the type of service visit purchased, time spent can be 15-30 minutes. Longer time allotment is available as well as requested.
Time vists may also require additional time if preparing special diets.
No, many petsitters spend the bulk of their business doing daily visits with pets whose owners are in town possibly at work. Or perhaps, the owner is unable to provide the necessary walking of a pet due to personal injury or age. We have serviced elder clients that cannot physically handle the strenuous parts of pet ownership be it walking/running a dog, or cleaning out an aquarium. But they still want the best care for their pet.
At other times a petsitter may provide pet taxi service transporting your pet to the vet or groomer.
We will make every effort to accomodate your needs and believe you too will see that is so and become another satisfied customer of Bow Wows Meows & More.
We cannot guarantee specific time of arrival due to mitigating circumstances like traffic, weather, pet emergencies, or personal emergencies. However, we will try to accomodate your pet as requested.
Preparation can make a big difference in how smoothly things go for your pet when the pet sitter comes to visit. Here are some tips:
Make sure the pet sitter has a phone number where you can be reached. If inside services are requested, provide the pet sitter with a house key in addition to garage door openers. If you have new keys made, try them out to make sure they work.
Clean food and water dishes before leaving town.
Provide extra food, litter and other supplies just in case you're not able to return when planned.
Clean out the refrigerator to avoid smelly food spoilage and wash the dishes in the sink to prevent ants, flies or other pests.
Adjust the thermostat to keep the house comfortable for the pet during your absence. In warm weather, a closed-up house can get dangerously hot in a short time.
Leave a list of phone numbers in case the pet sitter needs to contact service or maintenance companies while you are away; i.e., plumber, electrician, cleaning service, yard maintenance, pool service, etc.
Tell the pet sitter of any household areas that are off-limits to your pets or to the pet sitter. Secure access to those areas before leaving home.
You can help your pet sitter be a better friend to your pet by helping to make sure there are no problems while you are away. Planning and preparation in the following areas will smooth the way:
Tell the pet sitter about all health problems your pet may have—major or minor.
Provide written verification that your pet is up to date on its vaccinations.
Make sure your dog's collar fits—Otherwise he may slip out of a too-large collar while being walked.
If your dog is not accustomed to walking on a leash, practice with him before you leave
Make a list of your pet's favorite hiding places. This will prevent the pet sitter from worrying if your pet is not where expected—the sitter will know where to look.
Provide your own preferred method of flea control, even if your pets are currently flea free. Fleas multiply rapidly and can become a problem very quickly.
If you own both dogs and cats, do not ask the sitter to “just ignore the cats;” i.e., not charge, during pet-sitting visits. A sitter's professionalism, ethic responsibility and conscience would not allow the oversight of a cat in need of food, medical care or human attention.
If your dog growls or snaps at a pet sitter during a 'get-acquainted visit,” understand that the pet sitter may ask that you make other arrangements for your dog's care during your absence.
NO! Please do not place our independent contractors in the uncomfortable position of offering them employment apart from Bow Wows, Meows & More. Our sitters are contractually prohibited from soliciting or accepting employment directly from our clients. We think we pay fairly based on the work we do and overhead that we have. In addition, any tips that you choose to tip your sitter, either cash, check, or any other form of payment goes directly to your sitter.
Yes! We do not disclose any client information to any third parties. All Service Agreements, Pet Owner Profiles, Pet Profiles and the Veterinarian forms are kept in a locked cabinet at our office. Only the pet sitter will have access to your personal information.
While we do understand things happen in life that forces changes in your schedule, please note we may be forced to partially charge you for a cancellation. We try to always be readily available for our clients in meeting new assignments, but if you have something scheduled, we may not be able to service them and vice versa service you if the situation was reversed. Please let us know of cancellations ASAP to avoid being charged. We do require 36 hours notice for service appointments outside of the holiday season. During our scheduled holidays we required 10 days notice.
Yes, we will administer medication pills, drops and/or injections with a vet's written approval and directions. However, we will not administer medication to any animal that poses a danger to the sitter.
It depends on the type of emergency. If something was to happen to your regular sitter, we have a backup sitter that can take over. If an emergency occurs with your pets, we will first contact your vet and transport them if necessary. You will then be contacted about the situation.
If there is an emergency with your home, we will call you, your emergency contact and the appropriate authorities and/or a preferred repair service. For instance, if in a multi-level condo/apartment building and water is coming from the floor above you.
As part of our service we provide our clients with e-mails or voice mail. Just let us know how often. After all, we are here to serve you and give you peace of mind when you are away from home. And we as pet owners ourselves want to know how are pets are when we are away.
All sitters are required to mark their jobs as completed with the main office. If you prefer we can also leave you a note at the home, text or email you.
To show our sincere appreciation of you inviting new friends and pets into our family, we are grateful and happy to reward you for thinking of us.
Current clients who refer a new client will receive $10 off their next service appointment.
The more you refer the more you save. So whether you know someone who has a cat, dog, fish or any pet you can earn $$$ savings.
Even if they do not have a pet, but you know they need someone to be at their house to accept a delivery or watchover a repairman, you can earn yourself savings. Our rates our more economical than taking a day off of work waiting for a delivery.
(Note: New client's must write your name on their service agreement in order for you to receive your 'thank you' reward savings.)
One copy is for daily use. The other key is kept locked up in our office. Don't worry the keys are coded, we do not maintain your address information attached to the key. But the second key is back-up in case of an emergency. Such as the first key was lost, broken, or accidentally locked in the home. We would still be able to get in your home without any interruption of service.
A back-up key is also nice to have in case you lose your keys.
No, but most clients prefer to leave a key with us as this also allows you to give us a call on short notice to take care of a pet in case you are going to be delayed coming home.
It also makes it much easier to continuously have to schedule a meeting time and place to exchange the key. If you are a daily customer we do require a key to be on file. Otherwise waiting for security to open your door daily would not allow all to service all of your clients in a timely manner.
For safety reasons, we do not care for dogs or cats with free access to kitty or doggie doors while you are not at home. We require that these doors remain closed while we are caring for your pets. What if the pet ran away via that free access door and then leaving the yard. Imagine the meter reader coming into your yard while away and leaving the gate open. You might blame us for the animal getting lost, when in reality it was not under our care at the time.
For the safety and well-being of your cat, we require at least one visit per day while you are out of town. You never know if a cat gets into any mischief when away that can be harmful to their life. And don't you like having that peace of mind your pet is fine and not worrying that he has his claw caught in the rug, locked in some place, or have something fallen on him where he is trapped.
It is our policy to have al dogs on a leash when outside in an unfenced area. He can injure himself by running in front of a car or possibly injure someone else. It is also law to have them on a leash. The do may be well-behaved and obedient when you are around, but that does not mean they will act the same when you are not around.
Invisible fences are okay, as well as us letting them off the leash in a fenced in dog park.
100% of the fee is expected at the completion of the Get Acquainted meeting. All Balances must be paid in full prior to service or we have the right to refuse service. We currently only accept cash, personal checks, and payment via PayPal. We will not accept post-dated checks. If you are a daily client, we can make arrangements where payment is due weekly or at another pre-determined interval.
We do not ask you to fill out a new service agreement each time, but we do stress the importance of booking appointments in advance to ensure availability of sitters.
No. They will need to complete their own service agreement for their pets. But if you prefer to have your pets walked at the same time since each of your pets may be best friends, we can possibly accommodate. Depending on location of each pet's home.
Depending on the type of aggression, we may take them. If the pet will be a danger to the petsitter then we will have to decline. If the pet is aggressive say for instance only aggressive to the dog across the hall or down the block, you will let us know ahead of time so that we can avoid those situations when walking.
All pets must be up to date on their vaccinations though in order to be under our care.
Yes, we do depending on availability. Give us a call to discuss.
Yes, you may offer it directly to your sitter or send it to us.
100% of gratuities go to your pet sitter.

We will try to accomodate you though.
